"Solar generator" and "portable power station" are the same product with two names, and only one of them is honest. The unit is a lithium battery, an inverter and a charge controller in a case. It generates nothing. Solar panels are an optional input, and on the majority of listings sold as solar generators the panel is not in the box — you are buying a battery that is willing to accept one.
That matters because the name changes what people expect. A buyer who thinks they bought a generator expects it to keep producing power.
